Saint Abilius of Alexandria, also known by various names such as Abilio, Abitius, Abylius, Avilio, Avilius, Melyos, Mielo, Milius, and Sabellius, was a significant figure in early Christianity. He served as the third bishop of Alexandria, Egypt, around the year 84. Born in Alexandria, Abilius demonstrated great faith and leadership qualities from an early age. It is believed that he received a thorough religious education, which prepared him for his future role as a bishop. Abilius was ordained as the bishop of Alexandria following the martyrdom of Saint Anianus, the second bishop of the city.
