Biography

Blessed Álvaro Sanjuán Canet, also known as Father Álvaro, was a member of the Salesians of Don Bosco, a religious congregation founded by St. John Bosco. He was born on 26 April 1908 in Alcocer de Planes, Alicante, Spain.

Father Álvaro displayed great devotion and commitment to his faith from a young age. He pursued his studies at the seminary of Campello, Alicante, and later continued his formation in Turin, Italy, where he deepened his knowledge of theology and spirituality. He was ordained as a Catholic priest in 1934 and began his ministry with a strong desire to serve and guide young people in their spiritual and educational development.
