Saint Zambdas of Jerusalem, also known as Zambdas of Thebes, was a prominent bishop who served in Jerusalem during the late 3rd and early 4th century. He is often associated with bringing Christianity to the Theban Legion, a Roman military unit, and is revered as a martyr for his faith during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian. Little is known about Saint Zambdas's early life and background. However, it is believed that he was born in Thebes, a city in Upper Egypt, and eventually found his calling in the service of the Church. Saint Zambdas became the bishop of Jerusalem, a position of great importance within the Christian community.
