Biography

Saint Victorinus of Evreux, also known as Victorinus of Évreux, was a remarkable figure in the early Christian Church. Born in the fourth century, little is known about his early life except that he was the brother of another revered saint, Maximus of Evreux. Victorinus was chosen by Pope Damasus I to be a missionary in Gaul, an area that is present-day France. This was a significant appointment, demonstrating the trust the Pope had in Victorinus's dedication and faith. Gaul at this time was undergoing a gradual shift from traditional pagan beliefs to Christianity, and Victorinus played a vital role in this transition.
