Biography

Saint Victorinus of Egypt, also known as Victorinus of Corinth, was a courageous Christian martyr who stood firm in his faith despite facing severe persecution. He was born in Corinth, Greece, during the third century. Not much is known about his early life and upbringing. In the year 249, during the reign of the Roman Emperor Decius, a fierce persecution of Christians began. Victorinus, along with many other believers, was forced to flee his homeland and seek refuge in Egypt. In Egypt, he continued to worship and spread the Christian faith despite the constant threat of persecution. During the reign of Emperor Numerian, the persecution escalated, and Christians were specifically targeted. Victorinus, being a prominent and vocal Christian, became a prime target for the authorities. He was arrested and subjected to various forms of torture in an attempt to make him renounce his faith.
