Saint Ursicinus of Brescia, also known as Ursacio or Ursicino, was an esteemed priest and early bishop of Brescia, situated in Lombardy, Italy. Little is known about his early life, but his significant contributions to the Church and his unwavering support for orthodox Christianity are widely documented. Saint Ursicinus played a vital role in defending the teachings of the Church against the Arian heresy, particularly during the Council of Sardica in 347. At this council, he stood firmly alongside other orthodox bishops, championing the true beliefs of Christianity and opposing the Arian doctrines that denied the divinity of Christ. Although he was never canonized by a formal procedure, Saint Ursicinus is honored and venerated as a saint by the faithful, particularly in the diocese of Brescia. His feast days are celebrated on December 1st within the diocese of Brescia, Italy, and on April 20th as one of the saints specifically revered by the diocese.
