Biography

Saint Trien of Killelga, also known as Treanus, Trian, Trianus, Trienan, and Trénóc, was a 5th-century Irish saint and missionary abbot. He was born in Ireland, the son of Ded mc Luchtae of Cell Elge. Saint Trien is widely regarded as a spiritual student of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. As a young man, Trien showed great interest in the Christian faith and dedicated himself to studying under the guidance of Saint Patrick. During this time, he developed a deep spirituality and a passion for spreading the teachings of Christ. Inspired by his mentor, he felt a calling to become a missionary.
