Biography

Saint Ðaminh Mau, also known as Dominic, was a Dominican priest who lived in Vietnam during the 19th century. He was born around 1794 in Phú Nhai, Nam Ðinh, Vietnam, and dedicated his life to serving God and spreading the Christian faith. Saint Ðaminh Mau is known for his promotion of the use of the Rosary as a means to strengthen the faith of Christians. He believed that praying the Rosary was a powerful way to deepen one's connection with God and to seek His guidance and protection. During the rule of Emperor Tu-Duc, Saint Ðaminh Mau and other Christians faced severe persecution. Many were imprisoned for their faith, and Saint Ðaminh Mau was among them. Despite his own suffering, he continued to minister to his fellow prisoners, offering them spiritual comfort and support. Saint Ðaminh Mau's dedication to his faith and his selfless service to others earned him the reputation of a true martyr. He was executed by beheading on 5 November 1858, near the river in Hung Yên, Vietnam.
