Saint Salmodio, also known by various names such as Psalmodio, Psalmodius, Psalmet, Salmodius, Saumon, and Saumay, was an Irish Catholic hermit and spiritual student of Saint Brendan. He is venerated as a saint within the Catholic Church, although he is not widely known to the general public. Born in Ireland, not much is known about Salmodio's early life. He dedicated himself to a life of solitude and prayer and sought guidance from Saint Brendan, a renowned Irish monastic.
