Biography

Saint Repositus of Velleianum, also known as Saint Repositus of Benevento, was a Roman Catholic saint who was martyred during the persecutions of Emperor Maximian Herculeaus in the early 4th century. Unfortunately, there is limited information available about his life and background. Saint Repositus was one of the Twelve Holy Brothers who were known for their steadfast faith and unwavering devotion to the Christian faith. The Twelve Holy Brothers were a group of Christian martyrs who were particularly venerated in Benevento, Italy. According to historical accounts, Saint Repositus suffered martyrdom around the year 303 in Velleianum, Italy, which was a Roman province during that time. The exact circumstances of his martyrdom remain unclear, but it is believed that he faced persecution and was ultimately put to death for refusing to renounce his Christian faith. Following his martyrdom, the relics of Saint Repositus were enshrined in Benevento, Italy in the year 760. These relics served as a symbol of his holiness and became objects of veneration for the faithful.
