Saint Regulus of Scotland, also known as Regulus of Saint Andrew, Riagal, Riaghail, Riaghai, or Rule, was a renowned Catholic bishop of Patras, Greece. He is most well-known for being the custodian of the sacred relics of Saint Andrew the Apostle. Born in the 4th century, little is known about Regulus's early life before he rose to prominence as a faithful servant of God. In the year 345, Saint Regulus experienced a divine vision that commanded him to bring the relics of Saint Andrew to the west and establish a church in his name. With the blessing and guidance of the heavens, Regulus embarked on a journey alongside several fellow companions, including the esteemed Saint Damian of Scotland. After enduring numerous challenges and adventures during their travels, Saint Regulus and his companions finally arrived on the shores of Kilrimont in the year 347. It was here that they built the earliest-known church in Scotland, dedicated to Saint Andrew. This sacred site became a significant spiritual center, drawing countless pilgrims seeking solace and divine intervention. Saint Regulus's unwavering faith and dedication to fulfilling his divine mission made him a revered figure in the Catholic Church.
