Saint Prochorus The Deacon, also known as Procore, Procoro, and Prohkoros, was an early Christian martyr and one of the first seven deacons ordained by the Apostles. Very little is known about the early life of Saint Prochorus, but his significant contributions to the early Christian community make him an important figure in the history of the Church. Prochorus was called and chosen by the Apostles to be one of the first seven deacons, who were commissioned to support the apostolic ministry in the Church and assist with the distribution of alms to the poor.
