Biography

Saint Perseveranda of Poitiers, also known as Pecinna or Pezaine, was a holy virgin and founder of a convent in Poitiers, France. She was born in Spain and lived during the 8th century. Along with her sisters, Macrina and Columba, Saint Perseveranda embarked on a journey of faith and dedicated herself to a life of prayer, contemplation, and serving God. They felt a calling to establish a community where they could deepen their spiritual lives and support others in their pursuit of holiness. Arriving in Poitiers, France, the sisters found a suitable location for their convent and persevered in their mission.
