Biography

Saint Opilio of Piacenza, also known as Opilio of Ravenna, was born in Piacenza, Italy, during the mid-5th century. He is believed to have been the brother of Saint Gelasius. From a young age, Opilio displayed a remarkable sense of generosity and compassion, sharing his daily meals with the poor and needy in his community.

As he grew older, Opilio dedicated his life to serving the Church and caring for those less fortunate. He was ordained as a deacon in Piacenza, Italy, where he became widely known for his personal piety and unwavering commitment to charity.
