Biography

Saint Martinô Ta Ðuc Thinh was a Vietnamese Catholic priest who lived during the 18th to 19th century. Born around 1760 in Ke Sat, Hanoi, Vietnam, he dedicated his life to serving the Catholic community in West Tonkin, which is now modern-day Vietnam. As a priest in the apostolic vicariate of West Tonkin, Saint Martinô Ta Ðuc Thinh worked tirelessly to spread the teachings of Christianity and provide spiritual guidance to the faithful. He faced immense challenges during a time when Christians in Vietnam were persecuted under the reign of Emperor Thieu Tri. In 1840, Saint Martinô Ta Ðuc Thinh fell victim to these persecutions and was martyred for his unwavering faith.
