Saint Maro of Rome, also known as Marón or Marone, was a revered figure in the early Christian Church. He is most notably remembered as a close friend and companion of Saint Flavia Domitilla, a noblewoman and cousin of the Roman Emperor Domitian. Together, they faced exile and martyrdom in the persecutions carried out under the rule of Emperor Trajan. Not much is known about Saint Maro's early life or family background. He likely hailed from Rome, Italy, during the 1st century. His devotion to the Christian faith led him to form a deep bond with Saint Flavia Domitilla, who was a member of the influential Flavian dynasty.
