Saint Isidore of Cordoba, also known as Isidore of Seville, was a Spanish martyr who lived in the 9th century. Born in the city of Cordoba, Spain, he was a contemporary of Saint Eulogius and a spiritual student of Saint Elias of Cordoba. Isidore's life is primarily known through the writings of Saint Eulogius, who witnessed his martyrdom and subsequently wrote an account of it. Isidore lived during a turbulent time in Spain when Christians were being persecuted by the ruling Muslim Moors. Despite the dangers, he remained steadfast in his faith and actively pursued a life of holiness and knowledge.
