Biography

Saint Himelin, also known as Himelinus, Hymelin, or Imelino, was a relative of Saint Rumold, a renowned Irish missionary and bishop. Himelin was born in Ireland and dedicated his life to serving God as a priest. Little is known about his early life and upbringing, but his devotion to his faith and his desire to spread the Christian message were evident throughout his life. Himelin embarked on a pilgrimage to Rome, Italy, which was a common practice among devout Christians during that time. This pilgrimage was not only a religious journey but also an opportunity for Himelin to deepen his own spiritual growth and seek new ways to serve God. Tragically, during his return journey from Rome to Ireland, Saint Himelin fell gravely ill. It was during this time, while he was apparently on his deathbed, that a young woman approached him and offered him a pitcher of water. In a miraculous turn of events, Saint Himelin blessed the water, and it transformed into wine. This act of divine intervention was seen as a testament to his sanctity and his close connection to God. Saint Himelin's life was dedicated to serving others and spreading the love and message of Christ.
