Biography

Saint Gondulphus of Metz, also known as Gundulfus, Gondulf, or Gondon, was a prominent figure in the Catholic Church during the 9th century. He was born in the early 8th century and dedicated his life to serving God and the Church. Gondulphus began his religious journey as a priest, devoting himself to the spiritual needs of the faithful. His holiness, wisdom, and dedication soon caught the attention of the ecclesiastical hierarchy, and he was appointed Bishop of Metz, France in December of 816. As the Bishop of Metz, Gondulphus assumed his new responsibilities with great zeal. He was an exemplary leader, known for his deep faith, piety, and commitment to his diocese.
