Biography

Saint Gonéri of Tréguier, also known as Gonéri of Brittany, Gonéri of Plougrescant, Gonéry of…, Gonnéry of…, or Koneri of…, was a Catholic saint who lived during the sixth century. He was born in the British Isles and later became well-known for his pious life as a hermit in Tréguier, France. Gonéri's early life is shrouded in mystery, but it is believed that he was the son of Saint Elibouban, another revered saint from the same region. As a young man, he was forced to flee from Britain due to the invasion of Anglo-Saxons, seeking refuge in Brittany. It was in this foreign land that Gonéri eventually found his calling as a hermit.
