Saint Glisente of Brescia, also known as Glisente of Mount Berzo, is recognized as a pious and devoted saint in the Catholic Church. Little is known about his early life or family background, but historical records indicate that he lived during the time of Blessed Charlemagne. Glisente served as a soldier in the army of Blessed Charlemagne, known for his heroic defense of the faith and his loyalty to the Christian cause. It was during the battle of Mortirolo that Glisente displayed his bravery and valor, fighting alongside his fellow soldiers in defense of the kingdom. However, after this significant conflict, Glisente felt called to a different path in life, one that involved solitude, prayer, and evangelization. Following the battle of Mortirolo, Glisente made the decision to retire from military life and pursue a life of devotion as a hermit. He set up his hermitage on Mount Berzo, located near Brescia, Italy.
