During the 9th century, the Picts and the Scots clashed frequently, resulting in a state of constant turmoil and suffering. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Glastian actively sought a resolution to the conflicts. He used his position as a bishop and his strong influence within the Pictish community to promote diplomacy and peaceful negotiations. Saint Glastian's determination and unwavering commitment to his cause eventually bore fruit. Through his relentless efforts, he successfully mediated a peace agreement between the Picts and the Scots. This historic achievement not only ended the bloodshed but also significantly improved the conditions of the conquered Picts, a deed that earned him immense respect and admiration. His feast days are observed on January 28th and, on some calendars, also on January 30th.
