Biography

Saint Gebizo was a Benedictine monk who resided at Monte Cassino in the year 1076. He was a fervent spiritual student of Saint Desiderius, who later became Pope Victor III. Born in Cologne, Germany, Saint Gebizo dedicated his life to the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment and the service of God. In the year 1080, Pope Saint Gregory VII recognized the immense talents and deep spirituality of Saint Gebizo, and appointed him for an important mission. The pope sent him to Croatia with the specific task of crowning King Zwoinimir.
