Biography

Saint Garibaldus of Regensburg, also known as Garibaldus of Ratisbon or Gaubald, was a Benedictine monk and the first bishop of Regensburg, Germany. He was ordained by Saint Boniface around the year 740 and went on to become the abbot of the Saint Emmeran monastery in Regensburg. Garibaldus was born in Bavaria, Germany, into a noble family. He was known for his devotion to the monastic life and his dedication to spreading the teachings of Christianity. As a Benedictine monk, he lived a life of prayer, study, and service to others. In recognition of his piety and leadership qualities, Garibaldus was appointed as the abbot of Saint Emmeran monastery, which was located in Regensburg.
