Biography

Saint Floribert of Liège, also known as Florbert, Floribertus, Florebartus, Floriberius, and Florebertus, was born in 685 in France. He was the son of Saint Hubert of Liège and Floribana of Louvain. Sadly, his mother passed away during his birth. Floribert grew up in a deeply religious family, surrounded by the piety and dedication of his father, who was the bishop of Liège, Belgium. He was raised in a nurturing environment where he learned the importance of faith, humility, and service to others. Under the guidance of his father, Floribert received an excellent education, fostering his spiritual growth and shaping his future role in the Church. Recognizing his unique talents, Saint Lambert, the successor of his father as bishop of Liège, ordained Floribert as a priest.
