Biography

Saint Feredarius of Iona, also known as Ferreolus or Ferreolus of Iona, was a prominent monk and the Abbot of Iona in Scotland during the 9th century. Although not much is known about his early life, it is believed that he was born in Ireland and later dedicated his life to the monastic calling. Feredarius became renowned for his wisdom, piety, and leadership qualities, which led to his appointment as the Abbot of Iona in 863.
