Biography

Saint Farannan was a 6th-century Irish monk and spiritual student of Saint Columba of Iona. He is revered as a revered saint, despite limited information available about his life. Farannan began his monastic journey at Iona Abbey, one of the most significant centers of Christian monasticism in early medieval Europe. As a devoted student, Farannan absorbed the teachings and spiritual wisdom imparted to him by Saint Columba. He fully embraced the way of life promoted by the abbey, immersing himself in prayer, study, and service to others.
