Saint Domninus The Physician, also known as Donnino, was a heroic figure who lived during the early Christian era. Born in Palestine, he dedicated his life to the service of God and mankind as a skilled physician. Unfortunately, his path was marred by the religious persecutions that took place under the reign of Maximian. During this time, Saint Domninus found himself condemned to work in the treacherous mines, a fate that awaited many Christians who refused to renounce their faith. Despite the hardships and danger, he remained steadfast in his devotion to Christ. But it was not only his faith that distinguished Saint Domninus. Alongside his faith, he possessed exceptional medical skills, which he employed to alleviate the physical and mental anguish of his fellow prisoners. Although he was surrounded by the darkness of the mines, his compassionate presence lit up the lives of those around him. Word of Saint Domninus's medical abilities soon spread beyond the confines of the mines, reaching the ears of the local authorities. Recognizing the power of his healing hands, they decided to exploit his talents for their own benefit. They brought him out of the mines and appointed him as a physician to treat the ailments of the people in the region. Although he does not have a specifically attributed representation, his story serves as an inspiration to those who face persecution and hardship while remaining resolute in their devotion to God.
