Biography

Saint Dioscorus, also known as Saint Dioscorus of Alexandria, was a Christian martyr and companion of Saint Themistocles of Lycia. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, during the reign of Emperor Valerian, Dioscorus dedicated his life to the service of God and the spreading of the Christian faith. Dioscorus is known to have been a faithful companion and friend to Saint Themistocles, another prominent Christian figure of the time. They both shared a fervent devotion to their faith and an unwavering commitment to upholding its teachings, even in the face of severe persecution. During the reign of Emperor Valerian, Christians were targeted and subjected to harsh persecutions.
