Biography

Saint Cecilio of Illiberis, also known as Cecilius, was an early missionary and bishop of Illiberis, which is now known as Elvira in Granada, Spain. He is recognized as a significant figure in the development of Christianity in this region and has been revered as a man of faith, courage, and unwavering dedication to the Gospel. Little is known about Saint Cecilio's early life and background, but it is believed that he was originally from Africa and may have been of Roman descent.
