She was also recognized as the great-niece of the legendary King Arthur. Born in Brittany, France, in the 6th century, Saint Canna's life was marked by challenges and a deep commitment to her faith. As a young woman, Saint Canna married Prince Sadwen of Wales and became the mother of Saint Crallo. She also had a strong familial connection to her uncle, Saint Cadfan. However, in the 6th century, their family was forced to flee to Wales to escape Frankish invaders. After settling in Wales, Prince Sadwen felt a calling to religious life and became a hermit on the Isle of Anglesey.
