Biography

Saint Bernard of Tiron, also known as Bernard of Ponthieu, Bernard of Abbeville, or Bernhard of Tiron, was a revered monk and hermit in the Poitou region of France. He was also a dedicated traveling preacher, who played an instrumental role in spreading the Christian faith during his time. Born around the year 1047 in France, Bernard's life and works continue to inspire believers to this day. Bernard started his ascetic journey as a hermit in the Tiron Forest, where he dedicated himself to a life of prayer, penance, and contemplation. However, he soon realized his calling extended beyond the solitude of the hermitage.
