Biography

Saint Auxilius of Ireland, also known as Auxilius of Killossey, was a prominent figure in the early Christian mission to Ireland in the fifth century. He is recognized as one of the key disciples and companions of Saint Patrick, serving alongside him in spreading the Gospel throughout the land. Born in the late fourth century, not much is known about Auxilius' early life and background. However, it is clear that he answered the call to be a missionary and dedicated his life to the Christian faith. He joined Saint Patrick in his mission to Ireland, which had been predominately pagan at the time. Auxilius played a vital role in the evangelization efforts, working closely with Saint Patrick to convert the people of Ireland. Saint Patrick recognized his dedication and ordained him as a bishop, giving him the title of Bishop of Killossey.
