Born in the diocese of Poitiers, France, in the 6th century, his early life and childhood remain largely obscure. However, historical records indicate that he was highly educated and well-versed in religious matters. Auremondo's life took a significant turn when he received support and guidance from Abbot Giuniano of the Mairé Benedictine abbey. He underwent rigorous training and spiritual formation within the monastic community, which paved the way for his ascension within the ranks of the clergy. Recognized for his exceptional dedication, wisdom, and piety, Auremondo was eventually appointed as the abbot of the Mairé Benedictine abbey in the year 587. He embraced this position with great humility and zeal, eager to guide and nurture the monastic community that he now led. For almost four decades, Auremondo diligently fulfilled his duties as the abbot of Mairé.
