Her existence and significance in the realm of sainthood are primarily derived from her martyrdom alongside Saint Ursula. Artemia's story is intertwined with that of Saint Ursula, a legendary figure known for leading a group of 11,000 Christian virgins on a pilgrimage to Rome. Artemia traveled alongside Ursula, sharing in her mission and spirituality. They embarked on their journey, traveling through multiple regions, including Cologne, Germany. Tragically, their pilgrimage was met with great opposition, and Artemia, along with Ursula, met their martyrdom on October 21, 238, in Cologne. These courageous women faced persecution for their Christian beliefs and their commitment to their faith. Although little is known about the specifics of their martyrdom, their bravery and devotion have earned them a place among the honored saints of the Catholic Church.
