Biography

Saint Anthony of Gerace, also known as Saint Anthony of San Felipe Argiró, was a Basilian monk at the Greek monastery of San Felipe Argiró near Locri in lower Calabria, Italy. He lived during the 10th century and is known for his ascetic physical practices, deep prayer life, and reputation as a miracle worker. Not much is known about Saint Anthony's early life or background. However, it is widely believed that he was a faithful and devout monk who dedicated his life to God and the pursuit of holiness. He was likely influenced by the teachings and spirituality of the Basilian Order, which emphasized a life of poverty, obedience, and contemplative prayer.
