Biography

Saint Anglinus of Stavelot, also known as Saint Ingelinnus or Saint Engelinus, was a revered monk and the Abbot of Stavelot-Malmédy Abbey in Belgium. Born in the 8th century, the exact date of his birth is unknown. He is believed to have died around the year 768. Little is known about Saint Anglinus' early life, but his spiritual journey led him to Stavelot-Malmédy Abbey, one of the most prominent monastic establishments in the region during that time. He entered the abbey as a humble monk and soon displayed exceptional piety, devotion, and wisdom. His unwavering commitment to the monastic life and his leadership qualities eventually led him to become the Abbot of Stavelot-Malmédy Abbey. As the abbot, Saint Anglinus took on the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day activities of the abbey, including the spiritual guidance of the monks, the administration of the abbey's lands and resources, and the promotion of the monastic way of life.
