Biography

Saint Aedh Dubh, also known as Aedh of Kildare or Aeduus, was a prominent figure in the early medieval period in Ireland. Born in Ireland, he eventually became the King of Leinster, ruling over the province with great honor and wisdom. In the year 592, Saint Aedh made a profound decision to abdicate his throne and embrace a life of religious devotion. He renounced his worldly power and status in order to pursue a more spiritual path. Seeking solace and enlightenment, he entered the monastic community of Kildare, Ireland, where he dedicated himself to a life of prayer, contemplation, and service to God.
