Biography

Blessed William of Cardillac, also known as Guglielmo, was born to Geraldo, Lord of Capelle-Marival, during an unspecified date. He grew up alongside his brother, Bishop Bertrand de Cardaillac of Cahors, in a devout Catholic family.

At a young age, William felt a strong calling to dedicate his life to serving God. He decided to join the Benedictine order, known for its emphasis on prayer, contemplation, and a disciplined way of life. With great commitment and determination, William embraced the monastic lifestyle and sought to deepen his relationship with God.

After years of rigorous study and spiritual formation, William was ordained as a priest and continued to grow in wisdom and holiness.
