He faced persecution from local authorities who sought to suppress the practice of any religion other than communism. Despite these obstacles, Vincent remained dedicated to his mission, offering spiritual guidance, celebrating Mass, and providing comfort to communities experiencing hardship.
On May 11, 1961, while serving in Ban Ban, a village in Xieng Khouang, Vincent was tragically martyred for his faith. His unwavering commitment to the Gospel and refusal to renounce his beliefs led to his brutal death. Vincent's sacrifice exemplified his devotion to God and the Church, and his memory has been revered ever since.
Recognizing the true martyrdom of Vincent Lhénoret, Pope Francis declared him "Blessed" on December 11, 2016. The beatification recognition took place in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, and was presided over by Cardinal Angelo Amato.
