Blessed Ventureta Sauleda Paulís, also known as Sister Josefina, was a Dominican nun who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. She was born on 30 July 1885 in San Pol de Mar, Barcelona, Spain. From a young age, Ventureta showed a deep devotion to the Catholic faith and a strong desire to serve God. She joined the Dominican Sisters of the Annunciation in Gerona, where she embraced a life of prayer, contemplation, and service to others.
Sister Josefina lived in a time of great social and political unrest in Spain, marked by division, violence, and persecution of Christians. Despite the dangers, she fearlessly continued her religious mission, spreading the love of God and caring for those in need. Sister Josefina was known for her compassion, humility, and unwavering faith, which inspired all who encountered her.

On 19 December 2005, Pope Benedict XVI declared her venerable, acknowledging her exemplary Christian life and her willingness to give her life for her faith. Then, on 28 October 2007, Pope Benedict XVI beatified Blessed Ventureta Sauleda Paulís, recognizing her as a martyr and a shining example of Christian virtue.
