Biography

Blessed Stanislaw Kubski, also known simply as Stanislaw Kubski, was a Catholic priest who served in the Archdiocese of Gniezno, Poland. He dedicated his life to pastoral work in the Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Inowroclaw, Poland. Known for his compassion and commitment to the poor and unemployed, Blessed Stanislaw tirelessly ministered to those in need.

On 2 September 1939, during the dark days of the war against Poland, the invading Nazi forces arrested Blessed Stanislaw Kubski. He was then sent to forced labor in the notorious Buchenwald concentration camp. Despite the harsh conditions and immense suffering, he remained steadfast in his faith and continued to provide comfort and spiritual support to his fellow prisoners.

Later, Blessed Stanislaw was transferred to the Dachau concentration camp, where he faced even greater hardship. As his health deteriorated due to the extreme conditions of the camp, he was deemed unfit for labor and subsequently condemned to the gas chambers.

On 18 May 1942, Blessed Stanislaw Kubski met his martyrdom in the gas chambers of Dachau, Oberbayern, Germany. His unwavering faith and selfless dedication to his fellow prisoners even in the face of unimaginable suffering earned him the status of a martyr.

Blessed Stanislaw Kubski's feast days are celebrated on 18 May and 12 June, along with the 108 Martyrs of World War II. He was born on 13 August 1876 in Ksiaz, Wielkopolskie, Poland, and grew up to become a man of deep spirituality and unwavering commitment to his calling as a priest.

In recognition of his martyrdom and remarkable faith, Pope John Paul II declared his veneration on 26 March 1999, issuing a decree of martyrdom. Subsequently, on 13 June 1999, Pope John Paul II beatified Blessed Stanislaw Kubski, firmly establishing his status as a blessed in the Catholic Church.
