Setting off for the city of Algiers, Algeria, Sebastian De Burgherre embarked on a perilous journey that would test not only his physical endurance but also the strength of his faith. Sadly, upon his arrival in Algiers, he himself was captured and forced into slavery for a decade, experiencing firsthand the suffering and hardships endured by his fellow Christians.

Throughout his years in captivity, he remained steadfast in prayer, finding solace and strength in his deep spirituality.
