Biography

Blessed Ricard Farré Masip, also known as Father Eduard of the Child Jesus, was a Catholic priest and member of the Discalced Carmelites. He was born on April 3, 1897, in Lleida, Spain. Due to his deep devotion to God and his strong desire to serve Him, he entered the religious life and eventually joined the Discalced Carmelites.

Blessed Ricard Farré Masip's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his faith and his dedication to the mission of spreading the love of Christ. He lived during a tumultuous time in Spanish history and unfortunately became a victim of the Spanish Civil War. On July 25, 1936, he was martyred in Montcada, Barcelona, Spain, for his refusal to renounce his faith.
