Biography

Blessed Pedro Alonso Fernández was an Augustinian priest who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 1 August 1888 in Faramontanos, Zamora, Spain.

Pedro Alonso Fernández dedicated his life to the service of God and the Catholic Church. He joined the Augustinian Order and was ordained a priest. His unwavering faith, compassion, and commitment to his duties as a clergyman made him a respected figure in the community.

Unfortunately, the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War brought about a time of great turmoil and religious persecution. During this period, many clergy members became targets of violence and oppression for their allegiance to the Church.
