Blessed Paul Josef Nardini, known widely as Blessed Nardini, was a Catholic priest in the diocese of Speyer, Germany, and the founder of the Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of the Holy Family. He was born on July 25, 1821, in Germersheim, Rhineland Palatinate, which is part of modern Germany.
Growing up in a devout Catholic family, Nardini felt a strong calling to the priesthood from a young age. He pursued his studies and was ordained as a priest for the diocese of Speyer. On December 19, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI declared his heroic virtues with a decree, officially recognizing his life of exemplary faith. Just over a year later, on October 22, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI beatified Blessed Paul Josef Nardini, recognizing him as a model of Christian virtue, dedicating his life to God and the service of others.
