Blessed Pablo Martínez Robles, also known as Father Bernardino María of And√∫jar, was a Spanish Catholic priest and a member of the Capuchin Tertiary Fathers and Brothers of Our Lady of Sorrows. He was born on January 28, 1879, in Andujár, Jaén, Spain.

Father Bernardino María dedicated his life to the service of God and others. As a member of the Capuchin Tertiary Fathers and Brothers, he embraced the Capuchin Franciscan charism of poverty, humility, and compassion. He lived a life of simplicity and selflessness, striving to emulate the teachings and example of St. Francis of Assisi.

During the tumultuous times of the Spanish Civil War, Father Bernardino María displayed extraordinary courage and faith. Despite the escalating violence and persecution of Catholics, he fearlessly continued his pastoral ministry, offering spiritual guidance and sacraments to the faithful.

Tragically, on September 16, 1936, Father Bernardino María was martyred for his religious beliefs. His martyrdom is a testament to his unyielding dedication to Christ and his Church, even in the face of persecution and death.

Blessed Pablo Martínez Robles was recognized for his martyrdom and his exemplary virtues. On December 18, 2000, Pope John Paul II decreed his martyrdom, signifying his heroic sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel. Following this recognition, Father Bernardino María was beatified by Pope John Paul II on March 11, 2001.
