Biography

Blessed Miguel Alberto Flos, also known as Brother Exuperio, was a devout Salesian brother, esteemed teacher, and martyr of the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 12 November 1881 in Benicarló, Castellón, Spain.

Throughout his life, Brother Exuperio demonstrated a deep commitment to his faith and a passion for education. He joined the Salesian Society, a religious institute dedicated to the education and spiritual development of young people, where he served as a beloved teacher. His dedication to teaching was characterized by his unwavering belief in the transformative power of education and his commitment to shaping young minds.

Unfortunately, the Spanish Civil War, a period of intense conflict and persecution of Catholics, cast a dark shadow over Brother Exuperio's life. On 15 August 1936, while still in his hometown of Benicarló, Castellón, Spain, Brother Exuperio was martyred for his faith and devotion to the Catholic Church. Subsequently, on 13 October 2013, Pope Francis beatified Brother Exuperio in a solemn ceremony held in Tarragona, Spain, elevating him to the esteemed rank of Blessed.
