Blessed Martí Anglés Oliveras, also known as Brother Victori, was a devoted member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, a Catholic religious congregation founded by Saint John Baptist de La Salle. He was born on 1 October 1887 in Sentmenat, Barcelona, Spain, into a devout Catholic family.

From a young age, Martí showed great piety and a strong desire to serve God. He entered the novitiate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and made his religious profession, dedicating his life to education and the spiritual formation of young people.

Throughout his religious life, Brother Victori served as a teacher and mentor to countless students, instilling in them a deep sense of faith and helping them grow both academically and spiritually. He was admired for his kindness, humility, and dedication to his vocation.

Tragically, during the turbulent period of the Spanish Civil War, Brother Victori fell victim to the violent persecution against Catholic religious and clergy. On 2 August 1936, in Pruit, Barcelona, Spain, he was martyred for his faith.

Blessed Martí Anglés Oliveras' selfless sacrifice and unwavering commitment to Christ earned him veneration within the Catholic Church. On 22 June 2004, Pope John Paul II issued a decree recognizing Brother Victori's martyrdom, and he was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI.

Today, Martí Anglés Oliveras serves as an inspirational model of faith, courage, and devotion for believers around the world. His feast day is celebrated on 2 August, the date of his martyrdom.
