This declaration allowed for his beatification, which took place on 21 October 2017. The beatification ceremony was held at the Basilica of Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain, where Archbishop Angelo Amato presided over the joyous celebration.
Blessed Manuel Torres Nicolau is honored and venerated as one of the 109 Spanish Claretian Martyrs, a group of courageous individuals who gave their lives for Christ during a time of intense religious persecution. His feast days are celebrated on 25 July, the day of his martyrdom, as well as on 1 February, in commemoration of all the Spanish Claretian Martyrs.
Blessed Manuel Torres Nicolau's life and martyrdom serve as an inspiration and a reminder of the courage and commitment required to remain faithful to one's beliefs, even in the face of adversity.
